Fork Union Aquatic Club
Mission Statement
Character more than talent is the hallmark of a successful person. We believe that competitive swimming is an ideal medium to develop one’s character. The sport demands courage, confidence, commitment, determination, responsibility, and teamwork. Swimmers also learn that you get what you work for, not what you wish for. While most swimmers will never swim fast enough to become Olympians, they can develop the same attitudes and swim their races just as well. We pride ourselves on the core values taught in our program: Honor, Integrity, Discipline and Excellence. When our swimmers move on from our program, we want them to feel that they not only became a better swimmer but also a better person and feel the pride that comes from accomplishing something difficult and in doing it well.
